Farm happenings... Join us this Saturday for a community event! We have partnered with Long Beach City College Child Development to host and celebrate the Week of the Young Child! On April 11th from 10-12 we invite you for a farm tour, seed starting, book readings and more. Tour starts at 10:00 AM, $5 suggested donation. All the other activities geared towards young children ages 2-8 years old are free! The purpose of the WOYC is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs at the local, state, and federal levels.
Seeking Volunteer Coordinator!Volunteer coordinator is a very important role on our farm. This person is responsible for managing groups of volunteers as well as individual members of the community. You must have strong communication and management skills since you will be working with many different kinds of people. This position would be ideal for someone interested in coordinating events, working with youth, families, environmental education, health and nutrition education, and sustainable gardening. We are looking for positive individuals who follow through, are self-motivated and can work independently. Volunteer Coordinator is the key person that introduces people to our farm who have most likely not visited us before. Interest in local food is growing and we need YOU! The valuable experiences you will gain in this field complement studies or careers in nonprofit, healthcare and social services. Read more and apply here...
