Community farm day October 15, 9am-12pm

Join us for fall community farm day!  We would love to have you on the farm and need some helping hands during the season change. Please come ready to help with weeding, mulching and some general cleaning up.  Everyone is welcome, however children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.  Bring water, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and any snacks you might want for yourself or to share.  Be prepared to enjoy the outdoors, meet some new friends, and give back to the community through a little teamwork.

Thankful

I'm sure you heard by now the beloved historic Southern Pacific Depot burned down early Friday morning. The depot was a collaboration from We Are The Next and the City of Long Beach. You can see all the details and news clips on our fb page.

I wanted to THANK everyone who called, text or came racing down Friday morning to make sure Farm Lot 59 was still standing. Shockingly (and because LB Fire is amazing) we are still there. We had some minor irrigation damage and lots and lots of ash covering our field. But mostly unharmed.

I'm sad that our neighbor is gone and that such a beautiful building has been destroyed. I'm sorry that all the work that Katie and Larry put into it was wasted. The depot was pretty thrashed after the move but I saw the vision and potential it held. It was going to be the anchor for Willow Spring Gulch.

I'm not sure what's going to happen now to the parcel or the restoration of that area. For now we mourn the loss and continue to be thankful that we still have our small community farm.

Thank you again for all of your concerns and for keeping us in your thoughts always.
-Sasha
