Hello Long Beach Locals-
We are so excited about this Saturday's Market Place. Wide Eyes Open Palms is back from their adventures and will be pouring fresh brewed coffee, tea and serving seasonal pastries. Our very own The Lady Farmer will be serving breakfast using farm fresh ingredients and freshly baked bread. The Anandamide gang will be joining us again too. Please take the time to taste their raw chocolate made right here in Long Beach. All of these folks are making small batch specialty products for your enjoyment.
This months class is Chicken keeping 101. Class price is $15, and includes a 6pack of eggs from our hens for you to take home. We will show you different methods of chicken keeping and how to successfully raise backyard hens. Please see Alicia at the Farmstand Saturday morning for registration and payment. Class begins at 11 on the farm, please come prepared with a hat and flat shoes.
Thank you to everyone who applied for our fall work-share positions. We are happy to embrace the fall crew and look forward to teaching them how to farm here in the city. Next opportunity to sign up will be after the holidays for a February-August commitment. Thanks for all of you committed to help keeping agriculture in the LBC.
