gratefulThank you!!This holiday I'm reflecting on the growth of our little farm. In 2010 I had a vision to build an urban farm in central Long Beach. Some people didn't understand why I would want to do that. What's the point? But most of you got excited! You came and picked up trash, planted trees, schlepped manure, moved hay bales, laid irrigation, built greenhouses, fed chickens, mucked coops, bounced babies, worked in the store, held classes, delivered produce, washed dishes, and planted seeds. We have accomplished so much in these 6 quick years. Without you Farm Lot 59 would not be the urban agriculture hub that it is. So many great businesses and friendships have grown from the farm. Its not just producing salad mixes and herbs but lives are transformed here. I know it sounds dramatic but I never imagined that having a working farm in the city would be so nostalgic and healing for so many. We do it because of you and I'm so Thankful. Everyone is asking for donations this time of year. When you are deciding where to give consider supporting your local farm. When you keep your dollars local it supports your community and the people that live here. Farm Lot 59 is YOUR local farm! -Sasha Kanno & The Farm Lot Crew | ||
