Build Day at Three Sisters of Orizaba Park Garden

Dear Community Gardeners,

The time we have been waiting for is here, just in time for Spring. This Saturday March 15th we will be constructing our beds and community areas. We will have help from the Leadership Long Beach Youth program and Habitat for Humanity. We have also contacted other groups and we will not know until build day who will show up, so please enlist as much help as possible from your contacts. 

Schedule for the day:

8:00 AM Arrival

       Move lumber from across the street to garden

9:00 AM Leadership Long Beach Youth Program (LLBYP) arrives

       Continental Breakfast

9:30AM Sharing vision of garden with LLBYP

9:45AM Build Garden beds

12:00 Noon Lunch

1:00 Move dirt into garden, hopefully, keep your fingers crossed.

2:45 Plan next garden day

3:00 Debrief build day with LLBYP

All of this may go may faster if we have a lot of people. So let's start on time and get done quickly. There are several items we need to make the day go faster. Please RSVP to this email with what you can bring. Make sure to label your items.

8 wheel barrels

10-15 shovels

3-4 rakes

fabric weed blocker

Metal landscaping staples

4-5 hammers

3-4 big utility tarps

work gloves
