Hello Long Beach Locals-
This week has been busy on the farm. We planted tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, peppers and melons. We are blazing right through spring straight shot to summer! Hopefully we will be seeing squash blossoms in the next few weeks and fruit to set soon after. Tomatoes will take a bit longer but when they are ready, look out! Last year's You-Pick was so fun we will do it again for sure.
Thank you everyone for shopping at Farmstand 59. We are wrapping up spring greens and moving into heat loving summer. If you love kale and tender greens now is the time for you to stock up. Soon they will make way to heat loving varieties. This week we have eggs (they sell out quickly, sorry) sweet pea flowers (few more weeks), kale, artichokes, spring onions, sage, thyme, rosemary, heirloom salad mix, beets and more. Farmstand is open Friday 2-6 & Saturday 10-2.
This Saturday is our monthly 2nd Saturday work day. Your chance to come to the farm and see what;s gong on. We shortened the hours because of the heat, 9-12. This week we will be prepping beds and tackling the long list of chores.
We are proud to announce that we are one of the top 3 Finalists for the WBC Small Business Grant. We have been recognized for our hard work and making our dream a reality. You are invited to join us celebrate at the dinner on May 9th at the Hotel Maya DoubleTree by Hilton.
And lastly but most funly is the Farm to Table Dinner hosted by Chef Paul and music by our favorite Moonsville Collective. Please see the attached flyer and rsvp through the contact there. The food will be local and amazing, nothing fresher, and the music will be so fun. Come down!
