book your field trip with us!We are accepting group RSVP now for 2016:Join us this year on the farm for an educational tour, We have developed a hands on program designed for our Farm Lot Kids. The younger children are exposed to seed starting composting and vermicomposting. They learn how to take care of seeds, What makes a seed happy, How to be a good farmer to a seed. They use fine motor skills and listening skills. They learn the difference between dirt and healthy soil. Children learn just how important little worms actually are. Our middle aged kids will have a little more advanced lesson which might include; what can you grow on Mars, the difference between good bugs and bad bugs, the breakdown of a seed. This group typically gets involved in math, journaling and thinking at a deeper level about the workings of a garden. Our older students are welcome to engage in a discussion about food policy, GMO labeling, small scale farming as a business or how to start your own agriculture project. We also welcome garden clubs, green teams and sustainability groups. You do not have to be anything "official" at all. Getting a group together and coming down is what it's all about! | ||
